African Parks is a non-profit conservation organisation that takes on the complete responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks and protected areas in partnership with governments and local communities. African Parks manages 19 national parks and protected areas covering over 14.7 million hectares in 11 countries: Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

An early collaborator with EarthRanger, African Parks uses the software solution in most of the protected areas it manages.

Frankfurt Zoological Society is an international conservation organisation based in Frankfurt in Germany. Founded by Prof. Bernhard Grzimek, FZS is committed to preserving wildlands and biological diversity in the last remaining wilderness areas on the planet.

Over the past several years, FZS has worked with other partners to help ensure EarthRanger meets the needs of protected area managers. FZS has deployed EarthRanger in several of the protected areas in which they operate.

We partner with local communities and other stakeholders to build capacity and thereby help them to realize their development aspirations. Peace, security and conservation in northern Kenya are inextricably linked and maintaining the highest levels of operations for Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) and Lewa Wildlife Conservancy will always remain a top priority.

Using EarthRanger, NRT and Lewa run a joint operations command centre (JOCC) that enables their patrolling teams to share critical information with the Kenya Police and Kenya Wildlife Service on wildlife poaching and livestock theft, and other illegal activities happening across the landscape.

By having access to the latest technologies available, the two organisations are able to adhere to their guiding philosophy that communities should be at the core of conservation and wildlife protection and this can only happen if peace, security, the improvement of livelihoods for the communities in the areas are maintained.

Mara Elephant Project (MEP) was established in 2011 with the mission of protecting elephants to conserve the Maasai Mara ecosystem, an extension of the vast Serengeti ecosystem and Kenya’s most important wildlife area. MEP fills a gap in protecting elephants outside of conservancies and protected areas in the Mara ecosystem through anti-poaching patrols and rapid response units, elephant collaring, monitoring and research and human-elephant conflict mitigation. Driven by MEP Director of Research and Conservation Dr. Jake Wall, MEP is data-driven and focused on applied research aimed at enhancing the protection of elephants and the habitat upon which they depend. All of MEP’s data sets are input into EarthRanger, which streamlines the data collection process for useful and secure analysis. Applied conservation research on elephants, especially when combined with data from other wildlife, will help MEP to inform future spatial ecosystem plans that protect the Mara’s ecosystem functioning and biodiversity.

The SMART Partnership is a coalition of conservation organizations committed to improving effectiveness of protected areas management by empowering protected areas practitioners with the technology, services and skills to make better use of existing resources. SMART has grown to become a global leader in protected area management solutions, offering a suite of powerful tools and services, and the integration with EarthRanger will be a significant enhancement to SMART’s real-time capabilities. As a founding partner of EarthRanger, SMART is excited about the potential impact this collaboration can have on conservation outcomes globally.

Save the Elephants (STE) works to secure a future for elephants. Specializing in elephant research, STE provides scientific insights into elephant behavior, intelligence, and long-distance movements and applies them to the challenges of elephant survival and harmonious coexistence with humans.

A pioneer in high-tech elephant tracking, STE’s early real-time monitoring systems formed a cornerstone of EarthRanger at its inception. STE has since helped develop and promote the platform, including the co-development of a specialised animal tracking visualisation app, the Save the Elephants Tracking App, powered by EarthRanger.

Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) saves wildlife and wild places worldwide through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature. Its goal is to conserve the world's largest wild places in 16 priority regions, home to more than 50% of the world's biodiversity. With programs in nearly 60 countries and in all the world’s oceans and its five wildlife parks in New York City, WCS brings a unique mixture of field, zoo, and aquarium expertise that has driven its conservation success for over a century.

WCS has been a key partner from EarthRanger's beginning, helping to advise on the technology's development and working to promote the EarthRanger user community's overall success.

With a shared passion for protecting nature through technology, Dimension Data, NTT, and Cisco launched Connected Conservation in 2015. Deploying a technology solution to help stop the poaching of Rhinos in a private game reserve in South Africa.

Due to the success of this pilot project, the partners have expanded support to help stop poaching, human-wildlife conflict and environmental destruction in more regions, with 5 long-running projects across South Africa, Zambia and Kenya. Connected Conservation helps with equipment and local engineering expertise, so Protected Area Managers can harness connectivity, communications and cutting-edge tools for conservation.

Connected Conservation is a critical EarthRanger partner helping customers enhance hardware and connectivity capacity.

CyberTracker is a smartphone-based event and sighting geospatial logger with a simple-to-use interface. Forms can be customized, including using large icons, designed to be used by semi-literate field staff. CyberTracker enables your in-field personnel to enter data directly into EarthRanger. Information such as key species sightings, snare locations, poaching incidents, arrests, and more are easily captured, then automatically uploaded into EarthRanger.

Esri ArcGIS for Protected Area Management provides a broadly adopted geospatial platform of configurable applications for supporting diverse protected area management workflows across ecology, outreach and infrastructure management. In addition, Esri has proven geoprocessing and analysis capabilities with ArcGIS: tracking broader environmental changes and community impact as part of conservation programs.

Esri and EarthRanger share a common vision: using technology to address many of the challenges in conservation.
